Windows in Tempo condominium vary from floor-to-ceiling windows in the D/E Lines and the top floors to smaller half way windows
in B Line bedrooms and G Line living rooms and a multi sectioned windows with a balcony door in the B/G Lines. Most of the floor-to-ceiling windows offer amazing city views while side windows in home office of G Line will offer views of adjacent buildings.
In most cases clients ask to have some kind of treatment that can be retracted exposing all the window, but when closed shut would
offer a good amount of sun and heat protection. Silhouette Shades as were installed in a bunch of units in Temp let the owner get just that. When fully opened shade is concealed inside its cassette above the window and when closed will let the owner either have sun protection and see out or get privacy and sometimes room darkening depending on the fabric chosen.
Custom curtains also help address the issues above. In some floor-to-ceiling living rooms we installed sheer curtains that let the owner keep its amazing view in site while get sun protection and privacy during daytime hours. However in bedrooms as you can see in the image of a Green Ripplefold curtains we installed two layers one for day time and one for night time, offering blackout as well as see through sheers.
These type of windows allow installing shades inside window casement such as Roman Shades or Roller Shades but interestingly some unit owners decided to have floor-to-ceiling custom curtains in order to make the room look taller and have better light control. Curtains will offer a much better level of blackout than any other treatment that is installed inside the window.
Typically when a window has multiple sections with different heights, one can either install multiple shades each one with its own height. Or as done in many units in this building, install curtains that overlap all the sections disregarding the layout of the window. This solution turned out to be optimal in this building since there is a wall on each side of the window/door that allows for the gathering of the curtains. Also curtains will allow to keep the window section concealed while the door is used for better privacy.
